Materials
• Worsted weight cotton yarn in four colors• Color A: Terracotta
• Color B: Bay Leaf
• Color C: Ecru
• Color D: Charcoal
• Crochet hook size appropriate for your yarn
• Scissors
• Yarn needle

Stitches Used
• ch – chain
• sl st – slip stitch
• sc – single crochet
• dc – double crochet
• puff stitch – [YO, insert hook into stitch, YO and pull up a loop] 3–4 times, YO and pull through all loops on hook

Pattern
Round 1: Color A (Terracotta)
Begin with a magic circle.
Ch 1.
Work puff stitch, ch 2 eight times into the ring.
Join with sl st to the top of the first puff stitch.
Fasten off.
You should have 8 puff stitches, each separated by a ch‑2 space.

Round 2: Color B (Bay Leaf)
Join yarn in any ch‑2 space.
Corner:
Ch 1, puff stitch, ch 3, puff stitch in the same space.
Side:
Ch 2, puff stitch in the next ch‑2 space.
Repeat [Corner, Side] around for a total of 4 corners.
Join with sl st to the top of the beginning ch‑1.
Fasten off.

Round 3: Color C (Ecru)
(Third puff round)
Join yarn in any ch‑3 corner space.
Corner:
Puff stitch, ch 3, puff stitch in the same corner space.
Side:
Ch 2, puff stitch in the next ch‑2 space.
Repeat [Corner, Side] around.
Join with sl st to the first puff stitch.
Fasten off.

Round 4: Color D (Charcoal)
(Transition to double crochet)
Join yarn in any ch‑3 corner space.
Corner:
Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in the same space.
Side:
3 dc in each ch‑2 space between corners.
Repeat [Corner, Side] around.
Join with sl st to the top of the beginning ch‑3.

Round 5: Color D (Charcoal)
(Edging)
Sc in each stitch around.
Work 3 sc into each ch‑3 corner space.
Join with sl st to the first sc.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
